Catherine Kleeli
Catherine is an Artist working across several disciplines. Her paintings are mainly in oils and her machine stitched collaged works are made using recycled paper. Her subject matter is usually figurative and inspired by a photographic starting point.
Biography
Catherine lives and works in South Yorkshire having relocated from Lancashire in 2019. She gained her First Class BA (Hons) in Fine Art as a mature student, fulfilling a lifelong ambition for creative occupation. Since graduating in 2007, Catherine has worked as a professional Artist specialising in painting, printmaking and collage, the designs from which have formed the basis of her greetings card publishing business which she started in 2014. Catherine has exhibited widely across the north of England.
Catherine’s most recent body of paintings concentrate largely, though not exclusively, on ‘Family Matters’ contemplating topical issues of family significance using old photographs and cine films as inspiration.
Catherine’s stitched collaged works are mainly figurative depictions of animals, birds and flora using recycled paper to create the quintessential characteristics of the subject.
