Adrienne Brown
Adrienne is a textile artist and printmaker, exploring various combinations of print, embroidery, photomontage and collage.
Biography
Adrienne is a graduate of St Martin’s School of Art London and qualified as a teacher at Sussex University.
From 1993 to 2006 she was Director of Stockport Arts & Health, initiating, developing and managing arts projects for and with users of Stockport’s health services and local communities. She worked in partnership with architects, planners and NHS Estates in the commissioning of artworks for new NHS buildings.
After leaving Stockport Arts & Health Adrienne has concentrated on her own arts practice working in textiles, printmaking and photomontage.
Adrienne received Best Artist award 2010, and Best Exhibition 2009, Buxton Festival Fringe, and was nominated again in 2023. She was a finalist in the ‘International Garden Photographer of the Year’ competition 2009, showing in the exhibition which launched at Kew Gardens before touring the UK and overseas.
Her work has been reproduced in ‘International Garden Photographer of the Year’ (IGPOTY) 2009, and ‘Better Plant and Garden Photography 2010’. Her work has been selected to be published worldwide in 2012 in a celebratory book featuring the best of IGPOTY: Five Years of Award Winning Images.
