I create vibrant screen prints of landscapes which often feature trees and flowers and are inspired by the beautiful countryside of Derbyshire.
Biography
I am a screen printer who is inspired by being outdoors in the beautiful countryside of Derbyshire where I live. I love to create vibrant prints of landscapes that capture the colours of each season.
I studied fashion and textiles at university many years ago and was first introduced to screen printing whilst creating a fabric collection for an end-of-year fashion show. About eight years ago, I rediscovered my love of printing at Sheffield Print Club – I have been creating hand-pulled screen prints ever since and enjoy showing my work at art events across the country.
My design process begins by taking lots of observational photos of landscapes, trees, flowers and hedgerows whilst out walking. All of my designs are hand-drawn (more recently using Procreate) and I create my layers on Adobe Photoshop before heading to my local print studio to prepare my screens. Most of my printing is done in my little garden studio (when it is warm enough!)
I also have a range of giclée prints and seasonal greetings cards digitally-printed on recycled card.
